Start Taunus
Started in Taunus

We – the Regionalverkehre Start Deutschland GmbH, or “start” for short – are the new operator of the RB12 and RB15 lines on the Taunus Network (part of the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsbund – RMV).
What’s special about this new network? The world’s largest hydrogen-powered train fleet will be put onto the rails, bit by bit, from the very start. Ultimately, there will be 27 hydrogen-powered trains, model iLint from the manufacturer Alstom, used on the entire network. We’re quite proud to be operating this innovative fleet for the RMV.
The following routes will in the future be operated by start:
Beginning December 11, 2022:
- RB12 Königstein – Kelkheim – Frankfurt/Höchst – Frankfurt Main Station
- RB15 Brandoberndorf – Usingen (- Friedrichsdorf) – Frankfurt Main Station
Beginning April 1, 2023, in addition:
- RB11 Bad Soden – Sulzbach – Frankfurt/Höchst (- Kelkheim)
- RB16 Friedberg – Friedrichsdorf (– Bad Homburg)
